Tuesday Throwdown and A Day for Daisies!!

Happy Tuesday Friends!!  Team B is supplying your inspiration over at Tuesday Throwdown with images from our awesome Sponsor this week - A Day for Daisies!!  I adore their images and this week I chose to use this beautiful Castle image "Where Dreams Come True".

Our Challenge this week is to make a project using the Spotlight Technique. I had never used this technique before and actually had to head over to Youtube and view a couple of Tutorials.  I found them very easy to follow and LOVE the effect!!  I will definitely be using this technique again and again!!

This will be for a sweet little girl's 7th birthday...  May All Your Dreams Come True!!

I'm posting this card in the Make it Monday Challenge - Always Anything Goes.

I hope you will head on over to Tuesday Throwdown, check out the rest of the DT creations and play along with us...  Can not wait to see your projects!!

Blessings to you!!

Sketch Saturday

I made a quick card yesterday morning for a friend who did me a HUGE favor installing a ceiling fan!!  Definitely something I can not do myself!!  So, I made her this Thank You card using an adorable image from adfd of hatching ducklings...  only, for the purposes of this card I am pretending they are Swans.  On the way to my church there has been a nest with a Momma Swan sitting atop 5 eggs...  I have been checking for her whenever I drive by.  It's been well over a month and a half and she still sits...
Last night both the Momma and Papa Swan were on the nest.  Lo and behold my friend called me this morning to say the eggs were hatching!!!  I Can Not Wait to see these babies!!

The card is made from the Sketch over at Sketch Saturday.  The image colored with my Copics and I added the sentiment from Paper Smooches.  These baby Swans (and my friend) have been a BLESSING to me these last several weeks.  I LOVE to see God's hand at work in Nature and this has been so Special this Spring.  Hopefully I will get some pics of the little family to share soon.

Thanks so much for visiting!!
Blessings to you!!

Retro Sketch #27

Whenever I make a card I always think when I'm done "Why didn't I make two?"...  So today I did just that.  I wanted to make Birthday cards for two friends at my church whose birthdays are coming up in these next two weeks.

It's been a beautiful day here in New England.  Breezy, in the 70's...  it would have been a very peaceful day BUT I had three Boxers to tend to today.  Boston and Summer are ours, and we have been taking care of our daughter's Boxer Tyson.  They have really been good, just busy..!  Two needed baths before they could come back into the house - that is how hard they play!!  All in all it's been a great day!

You're the Sweetest Thing!

I found time for a quick card last night - amidst the amazing Olympic coverage!!  Loved the Beach Volleyball - USA-China...  WOW!!!  I have had this image from A Day for Daisies for awhile and chose to use it last night.  It so reminds me of my Great Nephew Axel.  He loves to color!!  The Challenge there is to use fabric or fibers...
I used the Sketch from The Sweet Stop Challenge.  The papers are Authentique - Genuine.  The image is colored with Copics.  I chose a soft creamy polka dot ribbon from my stash and paired it with some shear ribbon for the bow.  The sentiment is from the Stamp set Piece of Cake - CtMH stamped with Outdoor Denim.

a day for daisies...

Sweet Sketch Wednesday's sponsor this week is a day for daisies!!  I love their stamps and am combining the two Challenges with this card.  ADFD's challenge was to go Vintage and add polka dots, which I have to admit, in my rush to make the entry deadline, I forgot about the polka dots...  can we call the flowered background DP polka dots???  Probably not, but I do like the way the card turned out so it's all good!!  I can always use birthday cards, so I chose this "Vintage" girl with her "bouquet" of balloons.  She looks as though she just came from a Country Fair.  I colored her in with my Copic Markers and Fussy cut her out.  She is mounted with Pop Dots and the sentiment "enjoy" from Verve is stamped beside her.  The papers are from Authentique 6x6 Bundle - Genuine.  The ribbon and daisies are from my stash.

feel better soon

Tonight's card is inspired by a day for daisies.  Their Challenge is Crazy for Calico!!  I chose this cute little image of this sweet little girl with a pile of kittens - I love her.  Her Night Shirt is paper pieced, and the rest of the image is colored with Copic Markers.  I used the sketch and am entering this card in the Deconstructed Sketch Challenge

The papers are from Crate Paper Pretty Party 6x6 Pad.  The sentiment is from Verve and I also used Pearl Opaques from Close to My Heart.

Thanks so much for taking a look!!

Friendship

One card tonight after an awesome afternoon of Face Painting and a wonderful dinner and Silent Auction at my church LifeSong New England to raise money for Short Term Missions!!  Tired but blessed.  A Challenge that I have been thinking about is over at The City Crafter Challenge Blog -  "Just a Hint of Pink".  I'm using the sketch from the Challenge at the {Freshly Made} Sketch Blog.

The DP are from Lily Bee Design Double Dutch 6x6 Tiny Tablet (the checked paper) and Close to My Heart (the "Sand" paper).  The stamps (which I LOVE) are from Lili of the Valley Set 1, Oh so Girlie, stamped with CtMH Black and colored in with Copics.  I then cut the image out and mounted it with pop dots.  The tiny flower buttons tied with waxy flax, both CtMH, finish off the card.

You're in my prayers...

I recently purchased a few Digi's from A Day for Daisies and then realized they also had a Challenge Blog.  The current Challenge is to use "Shades of Blue".  So, I chose one of the images, decided to use the sketch No. 43 over at  The Deconstructed Sketch.
I'm not exactly thrilled with how it came out...  I think I should have used water color pencils instead of the markers...  I'll have to give that a try with my next one.  I do love the image though, so very sweet!!

Most of the papers are CtMH and I used sheer blue ribbon and a blue button from my stash drawer.  I believe I ended up with 8 shades of blue =)

thanks for stopping by!!
