On to our Challenge.  Here is our Sketch (with LOTS of opportunity to show off some embellishments).

You may know this, I LOVE ELEPHANTS!!  So, I chose this fun image Edward Springtime.

I added a Sentiment from one of my many Pure Innocence Stamps.  The papers are from my stash and the flowers are cut with a die from Taylored Expressions.  I added white sequins to the center of the flowers.  Found those in my stash of Beading supplies =)

Tuesday Throwdown and The Stamping Chef!

This week's Challenge over at Tuesday Throwdown is "Glitz & Glimmer"!!  Our Sponsor is The Stamping Chef and we have been given some wonderful images to create with =)  I chose this super cute little "Fishy Bulb" swimming in it's own little... fish bowl??

I found this fun DP in my stash and it reminded me of fish bubbles...  I colored the image with Copics, added some twine, some "Glitz", a sentiment "Make a Wish" from Paper Smooches, cut out the image and mounted it with Pop Dots. FUN!!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog has a timely theme this week - "Here Comes Summer".  When I think of Summer I think of two things...  a slower pace (at least I had a slower pace when I was a kid...  lots of time laying in the grass looking at the clouds...) AND I think of my dog Summer =)  So, Sassy Cheryl's image "A Penny for Your Thoughts" with Sally and her dog Bella was the perfect image for the Challenge!

I used some long retired paper from Close to My Heart along with ribbon and a button from my stash.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches, and the image is colored with Copics then fussy cut and mounted with pop dots.
I'm also entering this card in the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 187.
                                                         
After a very warm day in the high 80's with humidity in the forecast for the next few days... Summer is definitely here!

Welcome Wednesday!!

It's Wednesday once again!!  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I so enjoyed my family's Father's Day gathering and thought I'd share a few pictures...  I think there were 57 of us this year.  The "oldest" being my Aunt Grace (I'll keep her age a secret ;-) and the youngest my Great Niece Micaela Grace, just 4 weeks old.  Sweet picture of the two of them...  Lots of time was spent at the Beach Front -I love this picture on the Beach Wall.  Father's Day is a time when many reconnect and share what is going on in their lives, and a time for siblings to gather as distance keeps them apart more than they would like.    .

                   

A tradition for more than 30 years is a picture on the porch steps of the Next Generation of "Smiths".  This pic is of my parents Great Grandchildren - oh how they would enjoy them...       

I'm still waiting for my Grandchildren to come along and join in this Father's Day tradition!!

Take it Easy...!

Happy Father's Day!!!

This week Sassy Cheryl's has a great Challenge #170 For a Guy or a Boy...  I knew immediately what image I wanted to use... =)

Every year, most of my immediate family gathers at our Family Beach House on Cape Cod for Father's Day.  We started this about 30 years ago, (before my kids were even born...).  My parents have both gone on to Glory, and we continue to gather along with extended family and friends.  Tomorrow we expect more than 50 ranging in age from 4 weeks old to over 80...  Fun times!!  I can still picture my Dad relaxing in the Hammock that hangs between two old "scrub" pine trees in our side yard...  All ages love the hammock (even many of our dogs), but I think my Dad loved it most of all!!

This Sassy Cheryl image "All About Dad" practically jumped from her shop right onto my computer =)  I just LOVE the image - brings me right to that Hammock of ours on the Cape...

The papers are from My Mind's Eye - Sweet Caroline.  The burlap ribbon is Close to My Heart, the flowers were cut from the burlap ribbon with a Tim Holtz SizZix flower die and attached with a brad.  The Sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday 210!!

Hi there friends - Happy Wednesday!!  As I write this post I can hear the rain coming down...  a sound I do love to hear.  It's been raining most of yesterday and today so, I do think we are destined to have a wonderful weekend for Father's Day, at least that's my wish...!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #169 Perfectly PINKalicious!!

Early morning card making - a GREAT way to start a Friday!!  Sassy Cheryl's Challenge this week is Perfectly PINKalicious!!  Love pink (love green more), but who doesn't love pink...?   Perfect Challenge to use a new paper pad I recently purchased from Lili of the Valley, "Perfect Pair" from the NitWit Collections, lots of PINK papers along with a touch of my favorite green ;-) !!

I chose this cute Sassy Sally image "Autumn Swing" (although I fussy cut the image and left the falling leaves for another time...  now it's a Spring Swing =), and colored her up with my Copics.  I used the Sketch from Sketch Saturday - lots of fun little details to this Sketch!!  The flowers are cut with a die from Taylored Expressions - Bugabee Flowers.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday 209

Welcome Friends!!  The first Wednesday in June...  Can you believe it!?!?!  Summer is almost here...  We had a mini heat wave with temps in the 90's this past weekend.  I was so thankful to have my Saturday free.  I had some reading to do and wanted out of the house, so I drove to the Cape and it was a good 20 degrees cooler!!  I actually needed a sweatshirt in the shade - sweatshirt weather is my kind of weather!!  Wonderful reading with the ocean breeze...
