Celebrate!

Birthday card needed for 15 year old boy...  I always find teen masculine cards the toughest cards to create.  Tonight I went with the Sketch over at Sketch Saturday as my starting point.  I then chose a favorite Paper Pad and got started.  I'm happy with the way it turned out - Happy 15th Jacob!!

Sketch - Sketch Saturday
Paper - My Mind's Eye Moments
Stamps - Close to My Heart - American Celebration
Ink - CtMH Honey, Moonstruck
Button, Ribbon - Stash =)

Thanks for visiting!!

2 Days that were Designed 2 Delight!!

I am not a Summer person - I LOVE Fall!!  Yesterday my friend Juanita and I went to visit her sister and Dad in upstate New York.  We took the scenic route through Vermont.  We really weren't in Vermont all that long, but went on a bit of a Moose hunt in Bennington...  It was a gorgeous 2 days and we really had a great time!!  We kept spotting Moose - the painted kind!!   I even got up close and personal with one of them...

We stayed overnight in Cambridge, NY, went out for her sister Cheryl's Birthday Breakfast - panCAKES of course, and just relaxed and visited with each other.

Check out this sunflower...  A sure sign that Summer is winding down and Fall is on the way!!!   I have always had a silly fear of large Sunflowers.  It all started with an episode of "Lost in Space" many years ago...  Getting over that fear and loving the Sunflowers this year =)  These ones are a little more friendly... I think!

We spotted another moose on the ride home.  This one was at a place that had an awesome bakery along with a great little shop with pumpkins, apples, Mums, Apple Cider Donuts (yum!!) and other gift items.
All things FALL!!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot the main reason for this post...  While I was away, I got an e-mail from Faith over at Designed 2 Delight.  She wanted to know if she could share a card of mine in her Hello September post.  Of course I said Yes and that I would be honored.  Thanks Faith!!!  She has such amazing images in her shop!!   I encourage you to take a look by clicking HERE.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Happy Anniversary!!

Same LoTV stamp, different Sketch...  What can I say?  I needed to make one more Anniversary card for this weekend, and I just LOVE this stamp =)  The Sketch is from the Challenge over at Sketch Saturday.  I used some cute new paper I picked up from My Mind's Eye Six x Six.  Love the light blue and brown combo!!  The ribbon is from my stash.  The stamp is colored with Copics, fussy cut out and mounted with pop dots.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday!!

I am so very excited to be able to say that I am on a Design Team!!!  AND to be able to say that I am on the Design Team of my favorite Sketch Challenge - Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  I never used to think about making square cards, but now I find that square cards are what I want to make!!  I love Arlana's Sketches with all the layering and the perfect layout to feature those favorite stamps.  SWEET!!
Even though I am not entering my card this week, and my first week to feature a card as a DT Member is next week, I couldn't resist the Sketch.  Perfect for an Anniversary card I wanted to make.  So check out my card and please, check out the Challenge over at the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Blog.  The Sponsor this week is Milk N Coffee Stamps.  They have some really sweet images.  I know I will be picking up a few...

Tonight I used a stamp from Lili of the Valley.  I love this little boy and girl on the swing.  I love back shots...  Some of my favorite pictures of my kids when they were young are from the back...
The couple I am going to give this card to have been married more than 50 years.  So I love the sentiment LoTV put with this stamp: "Together Forever".  How true!!  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it in with Copics.  I then fussy cut it out and mounted it with Pop Dots.  The paper is Lily Bee Design - Buttercup and the ribbon is from my stash.
I am entering this card in the Challenge at The Paper Shelter - LAYERS...

Thanks so much for stopping by and I do hope you will play along at Sweet Sketch Wednesday!!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday =)

Tonight I made a card for the Challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  I used papers from My Mind's Eye that make me think of Fall - CAN'T WAIT!!!  Fall is my FAVORITE season!!  Yay!!  The image is from the Sponsor Bugaboo Stamps colored in with my Copics and mounted with Pop Dots.  The wooden flower and brads are Close to My Heart and the ribbon from my stash.

Thanks so much for visiting =)

Birthdays...

At my church, we have a Birthday list that comes out the last Sunday of the month with the following month's Birthdays listed.  I try to make cards for everyone (some months I am successful, some, well, not so much...).  Anyway, there were two birthdays today at the church.  I didn't have a lot of time yesterday, so, I just started layering with some DP I liked added some ribbon and this is what I came up with.  I love how they came out and they were super quick!

The paper for the card on the left is from Debbie Mumm - Song Birds.  I added some crocheted "ribbon" from Close to My Heart at the bottom and used my Go To Birthday sentiments from Verve stamped with Chocolate from CtMH.   For the card on the right I used papers from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found - Sunshine.  The shimmery ribbon is from my stash and the crocheted ribbon at the bottom is Recollections.  The sentiment is stamped with Tuxedo Black from Memento.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Brant Point Light

I love to check out CSI Color Stories Inspiration each week to see what their assignment is...  This past week I was so excited to see that the photo they were drawing their inspiration from was of a favorite Lighthouse of mine that's on Nantucket!!  I try to do this Challenge Blog each week, but have missed quite a few weeks this Summer (I have so many printouts from the Blog that I still really want to do...)...  Any way, tonight I created this 6 x 6 layout.  Juanita and I have gone to Nantucket several times for the Daffodil Festival.  These photos were taken in 2009.  Love, love, love that weekend get-a-way.  My favorite vacation spot. We arrive on the Island, put away technology (for the most part =) and relax.  So nice to get a way with a friend and have no one looking for anything from me - sweet!!

The papers I used are mostly from the Authentique 6 x 6 pad Fresh.  Most everything else is from my stash.

Thanks so much for taking a look!!
