Retro Sketch #5

Today I used the sketch from the Retro Sketch Challenge.  The paper is Footloose from Close to My Heart  I inked with Brown Bag.  I added 3 wooden buttons and 3 antique copper brads also CtMH.  The image is from Stitchy Bear Stamps and is colored with Tombow markers, inked with Brown Bag and attached with Pop Dots.

Inspired By...

This weekend I am at a lovely old Inn in Rockport, MA near the ocean with my crafting supplies and fellow CtMH consultants.  There is a LOT of Paper Crafting going on!!  (I need to get this entry done, shower and get down to breakfast... I have been told the Scones are to die for...).  Last night I made this card based on the Blog The Inspired Challenges # 17 and used the sketch from {Freshly} Made Sketches.  I am an animal lover and was intrigued by the inspiration of this Zoo Animal Growth Chart (I LOVE the ZOO).  This image from Mo Manning seemed just perfect!!  I have had many dogs and cats who love to sleep together - so sweet!   The paper and sentiment are Close to My Heart.  The image is colored with Tombow markers.
As I finish up this post, the seagulls are calling me from outside my window - cool!!
I think a walk to the ocean might be in order...
Thanks for stopping by!!

Name that Tune...

This week's Challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays is to come up with a card based on a song!  What fun!!  The song I chose is Somewhere Over the Rainbow.  I used CS from my scraps and the Close to My Heart stamp set "Nothing but Blue Skies" stamped with CtMH inks.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!!

Mo's Patience...

I think this is one of my favorite Mo's images.  The little girl is so stinkin' cute and I love the look on the cat's face =)  Tonight I made this card from the sketch over at Sketch Saturday Challenge.  I love their sketches!! I flipped the sketch on it's side and used Close to My Heart papers and CS from the Pemberley Pack.  The ribbon and buttons are also CtMH.    I tied each of the buttons off with Chocolate Brown embroidery floss.  I'm a huge fan of Navy!!  The image was colored in with Tombow markers and attached with Pop Dots.

Hope you are having a great week - So glad you stopped by!!

Mojo Monday (on Monday!!)

One can never have enough Birthday cards on hand...  although this one is being delivered tomorrow!!  I have been wanting to use this Mo  image and decided this was the card to do it!  The sketch at Mojo Monday was perfect!!  I am also entering this card in the Challenge over at Mo's Digital Pencil Blog.  The challenge there is to "Bling it on" a Mo image.  I thought it made perfect sense for Birthday Mouse Flossie to wear her best party dress with the blingy ribbon around her waste!!After all, she is on her way to a Party!!

I used coordinating papers from Recollections.  The sentiment (inside it continues "a very happy birthday") is from the Verve set "Wishing You" stamped in Close to My Heart Black.  The bow and the bling are also CtMH.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Sending hugs your way...

Just one card for today.  Had a busy Sunday.  Worship this morning  which was awesome.  Got home about 1:30.  Put together a Beef Stew for my husband to take to the Church Family Dinner while I went to see a production of Children of Eden.  My friend Janice directed the music.  She does an AmAzInG Job!!.  I also got word from my friend Juanita that her Dad has been hospitalized (she just lost her Mom a few months ago...).  I wanted to make a card to send to her while she is in NY.  The image I used for this card is just perfect.  My favorite animal is the elephant and hers is the monkey...  =)  How did Mo's Digital Pencil know that...?  I love it when a card just falls into place so perfectly!!

I'm using the sketch from Card Patterns.   I used three coordinating patterns from Recollections which are primarily Gray and Yellow.  The half circle is cut from a Shiny Yellow CS.  The bow is gray Twine from The Twinery and the sentiment is stamped on gray CS with CtMH Black ink and attached with a plain white brad.  The image is colored in with Tombow Markers.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Miss Ewe!

Last card today is based on the sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  The Design Team always does such a great job with their cards and are oh so encouraging with their comments!!

The image I chose is from Mo's Digital Pencil Shop.  The sentiment inside is...  Miss Ewe!  The paper is a retired Close to My Heart pack Caboodle.  The ribbons, crocheted flower and decorative brad are also CtMH.  The image is colored in with Tombow markers.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Make it a Double!

Tonight I made a Father's Day card - wow, this crafting has me way ahead of the game!!  I not only used the colors for inspiration at The Color Throwdown Challenge, but the picture as well.  It hit me how the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches reminded me of an aquarium - so I put the two challenges together, found a stamp set I hadn't used yet but have had for a long while and came up with this card.  The Stamp set is Close to My Heart World's Best Dad.  I used quite a few of the stamps and stamped them with Desert Sand, Outdoor Denim and Black.  The fish were colored in with CtMH markers in Sweet Leaf and Sunny yellow.  A few of the fish were attached with Pop Dots.  Each fish has a teeny tiny opaque pearl, either black, or blue for an eye.
My only challenge left for this card will be to remember where I put it come Father's Day!!

Better With You...

Here it is Saturday again already!!  I made it just in time to post this card for the CR84FN Color Challenge.  I love this Challenge!!  The colors of course made me think of Dunkin' Donuts so I went with a coffee themed card.  Those of you who know me well, know that I love my coffee.  In fact, I'm drinking a cup of my nephew's coffee right now (Map 40 Mokha Java, my current favorite... oh, and his Chickadee DeCaf is the best Decaf out there!!).  He has an organic coffee business.  Personally wood fire roasts his coffee beans in Maine.  For all you coffee enthusiasts, check out his website Matt's Coffee ... tell him Auntie Sal sent you.  Now, back to the card.  I used Recollections paper and Verve stamps from the set Better With You.  I used CtMH Blush for the sentiment and Black for the cup.  The cup is colored in with Tombow markers and both are attached with Pop Dots.  The card is finished off with a bright orange polka dot grosgrain ribbon.
Now isn't a cup of coffee always better when you are joined by a friend?

CAS-ual Friday #45

Last Post for today... (actually it's tomorrow)...  CAS-ual Friday always has a great Challenge.  This week it's The BOLD and the Beautiful.  We are to keep it Clean and Simple and use Pastels and Black.  In my stash of Close to My Heart stamp sets, I came across a "Princess" or "Fairy Godmother" wand and I decided to work with that.  I stamped it with Black and colored it in with Pale Yellow and Purple.  The Card Stock and Paper are also CtMH.

Thanks for stopping by!
I wish you all kinds of happiness!

Just BE You!

I am always looking for images that are usable for Teens.  I found this image over at Whimsie Doodles and it was perfect for the card I wanted to make.  I chose a Sketch from My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge Blog.  It never ceases to amaze me how many Challenges there are out there and how many people are creating amazing cards!!

Another Challenge I happened upon and am doing for the first time is the Runway Inspired challenge.  I am not a Runway Fashionista but loved the colors in this picture and thought it would lend to a fun card.
The CS and papers are Close to My Heart and Recollections.  The image is colored in with Tombow markers with a touch of bling on her belt buckle.  The card is finished off with a retired CtMH stamp and a yellow polka dot bow.
I'm entering this card in the Whimsie Doodles March Challenge, The Runway Challenge and the My Favorite Places Challenge.
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Sorry you are hurting...

I love Mo's Digital Pencil images.  This little girl is so precious I couldn't resist her.  CAS-ual Friday has a Challenge this week It's easy as 1-2-3.
1 - a pattern
2 - an image
3 - a sentiment

I went with a sketch from a Challenge I have not done before, Card Patterns Sketch Blog.  Seemed to make sense.  #1 - check!  My image was easy Sorry Shanna from Mo's.  #2 - check!  The sentiment sorry you are hurting is from Verve.  #3 - check.

I flipped the sketch on it's side.  The papers are single sheets purchased at the local craft store.  I no longer remember the make but I do LOVE the spring colors.  I used right pink polka dot grosgrain ribbon and tied it in a bow.  The image is attached with pop dots.

Thanks so much for visiting.  Time now to turn in...

You're in my prayers...

I recently purchased a few Digi's from A Day for Daisies and then realized they also had a Challenge Blog.  The current Challenge is to use "Shades of Blue".  So, I chose one of the images, decided to use the sketch No. 43 over at  The Deconstructed Sketch.
I'm not exactly thrilled with how it came out...  I think I should have used water color pencils instead of the markers...  I'll have to give that a try with my next one.  I do love the image though, so very sweet!!

Most of the papers are CtMH and I used sheer blue ribbon and a blue button from my stash drawer.  I believe I ended up with 8 shades of blue =)

thanks for stopping by!!

One more post for today...

I happened upon The Craft's Meow 1st Birthday Bash Color Challenge today and decided to play along.  I loved the colors and the picture.  I remembered a  CtMH Stamp of the Month set from a few years ago and thought it would be perfect to use.  I randomly stamped on Colonial White CS to create the paper, I found blue ribbon in my stash to use across the bottom giving the effect of a basket holding the eggs which were stamped with Clover Meadow and Spring Iris.  I cut the shape for the sentiment with the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.

Easter is right around the corner...!

Spring has Sprung!!

It really has been a crazy winter here in New England.  Warmer than usual, hardly any snow to speak of, and now Spring is here.  Climbing to the mid 70's today and the 80's tomorrow.  Not sure I am ready for the hot weather just yet...  This morning I finished up a card I started last night using the Mojo Monday sketch #233 with some Spring colors for the March Whimsie Doodles Challenge.  My friend Juanita's granddaughter Dakota is getting ready for her very first dance recital, so when I saw this Image at Bugaboo Digi Stamps it reminded me of her and the excitement a first recital brings!!

I used yellow and pink gingham checked papers from Recollections along with white and yellow CS. I layered a pink lacey "ribbon" (CtMH) on top of white shiny sheer ribbon.  The embellishments and the sentiment Little Princess are Close to My Heart.  The Ballerina was colored in with Tombow markers.

Happy Spring everyone - and thanks for stopping by!!

Refrigerator Magnet Card...

I love, love, love the sketch at Sketch Saturday this week and I love, love, love the Pemberley Paper Pack from Close to My Heart.  I used one of the papers, front and back along with Colonial White card stock and the stamp set Word Puzzle (reminds me of refrigerator magnets so I had some fun with this set).  I stamped the flowers with Outdoor Denim and colored them in with CtMH markers in Indian Corn Blue, Desert Sand and Vanilla Cream.  The words are stamped in Desert Sand.  The lace is from K & C Company.  A few of the flowers and the butterfly are secured with Pop Dots.

Now...  time to turn in.  Thanks for visiting my Blog!!

For you...

Sunday afternoon paper crafting =)  Today is a gorgeous day here in New England.  Church this morning was great.  The third in a series on Amazing Grace.  All we have to do to earn His Grace has already been done.  On the Cross...  All we have to do is believe.  What comfort to know that there is nothing we could have done in our past that could keep us from receiving His Grace!  Grace - when I mess up (notice that is when not if) he still loves me, forgives me and wants to hear from me - how cool is that??!  His Grace is RaDiCaL!!
Once home, I spent some time in the yard with the dogs and then came in for some crafting.  I made a card for the third Retro Sketch Challenge.  I flipped the sketch and chose an image from The Stamp Fairy of a bear with a daffodil.  This is the first year in quite some time that I am not heading to the Daffodil Festival on Nantucket in April =(  Love the flower, love the festival, love this image!

I used some bright papers from my stash (I think they are Recollections).  I used white grosgrain ribbon across the top with two yellow buttons.  The image is colored in with Tombow markers and raised with Pop Dots.
(Spring is just 3 days away... just sayin'...)

Getting Sketchy...

Two Birthday cards are in order for two 8 year old boys... not twins!!  I decided to do the Ribbon Carousel Challenge.  I flipped the sketch for one of the cards.  All materials used are Close to My Heart.  The papers from the pack Fan Fare.  The candle was stamped with Tulip ink and colored in wi  th yellow, and the flame with yellow and outlined with tulip.  The circle, star and the #8 were cut with the Art Philosphy Cricut cartridge.  The card was finished off with red Baker's Twine from the Twinery.

Some Saturday Crafting...

Happy Saturday!!  I was the Hostess last night to 18 women from my church for Secret Sisters (aWomen's prayer ministry).  Needless to say my house was packed and I was quite tired this morning and slow to get started...  But, we had a great time - food, fun and fellowship!!
I was checking through some of the blogs to see what hit me for my card making today.  I started off with The Color Throwdown and used the sketch from the Cards & Things challenge.  I used papers from my "scrap pile" along with a lunch bag =).   I roughed up the papers with a sanding block and added three tiny buttons.  The image is from a day for daisies.  I love the images in this shop!!  I used both soft chalks and markers to color in the image.  I flipped the design and took the liberty of adding a ribbon at the top.  The sentiment "Happy Birthday" is Verve Stamps.  Now...  back to my Crafting Room...

Today is Wednesday!!

I decided to get right to the Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge...  I thought one of the Digi stamps I purchased from The Doodle Pantry was perfect for this sketch =).

I colored the cute little brids two shades of blue and used the co-ordinating papers from the Close to My Heart paper pack Magnifique. I added some white sheer ribbon with light blue super thin satin ribbon layered on top and tied in a bow.  The images are attached with Pop Dots.
Tweet Dreams everyone...

Tomorrow is Wednesday!!!

I missed posting a card to one of my favorite Challenges last week - Sweet Sketch Wednesday!  So I am rushing to get this post done and my card LINKED =)  Hope I make it!

Their Sponsor this week is The Stamp Fairy, I love their stuff!!  I used the cute Bunny with the carrot Digi for my card.  I used Recollections paper and Close to My Heart cardstock.  The cute ribbon is from American Crafts and the brads are CtMH.  I used my Cricut and Art Philosophy cartridge to cut the strip of white trim.

Thanks so much for visiting my Blog!!
