Anything but Square...

This week over at Sassy Cheryl's the Challenge is to create a card that is anything but Square.  I have been antsy to use an image of hers that is just so stinkin' cute!!  This little girl blowing the giant Bubble just makes me laugh!!  I used the Sketch from Deconstructed Sketches (again, second card in a row =) The image is colored with Copics.  Papers are from Cosmo Cricket - Tea Time.  I made the paper flower using a Sizzix Die, wet the two pieces, crinkled them up and set them under my bright lamp to dry.  I then smoothed them out and voila.  I am happy with how it came out and have to thank Kathie from my SSW Team for the instructions she had on her post this week - awesome Kathie!!  I also used lace trim from Recollections.

Here is the Sketch...

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I sure am GRATEFUL for Daylight Savings Time...  Up way too late tonight, so very happy to "Fall Back"!!

Just Married!!

I Love making wedding cards!!Yesterday A girl I work with got married.  The wedding was wonderful and she was absolutely gorgeous!!    For this one I used a cute Just Married image and colored it in with Copics.  I used papers from two different MME pads, lace and a flower from Recollections and "jewels" from Close to My Heart.  I used the sketch at Deconstructed Sketches switching out the squares and circles...  seemed to work =)

The Deconstructed Throwdown...

A quick post before much needed sleeeeep...  Couldn't wait to make this card tonight.  I'm using the sketch from The Deconstructed Sketch Blog and the color challenge over at The Color Throwdown.  I went with the inspiration of the picture as well.  This paper seems to be my go to pad right now.  It's Authentique 6x6 Bundle - Fresh.  Love, love the beachy feel!  The image is from the Sweet Stop.  Inside the card I used a sentiment stamp from CtMH "One today is worth Two tomorrows - Ben Franklin".  This sentiment is perfect for the person I am making the card for.  The image is colored with Copics and the card is simply embellished with red Baker's Twine.  I debated adding more embellishments, but decided I liked the simplicity of the design.
Thanks for visiting!

I Love Being Your Mom!

Mother's Day is fast approaching...  The Challenge at Perfect Sentiments this week is Handmade Flowers for Mom.  Since my Mom died in 2005, and my Grandmother's long before that, I wasn't quite sure what sentiment I wanted to use until I saw this sentiment in the Pure Innocence set Cute-a-tude.  I couldn't wait to make cards for my kids (now adults...)!  So my "Twist" to the Challenge is Handmade Flowers FROM Mom!!  I used the Sketch from the Deconstructed Sketch Challenge.

I chose paper from the 6x6 Paper Pack "Meadow Lark" from Prima.  The flower was cur on my Cricut using the Art Philosophy Cartridge.  I used organza ribbon below the flower and attached it with a brad topped off with a pearl opaque.  The sentiment is stamped with Close to My Heart Petal ink and three pearl opaques in the top right corner finish off the card.

I Love Being Your Mom!!!

Tonight's card is inspired by a day for daisies.  Their Challenge is Crazy for Calico!!  I chose this cute little image of this sweet little girl with a pile of kittens - I love her.  Her Night Shirt is paper pieced, and the rest of the image is colored with Copic Markers.  I used the sketch and am entering this card in the Deconstructed Sketch Challenge

The papers are from Crate Paper Pretty Party 6x6 Pad.  The sentiment is from Verve and I also used Pearl Opaques from Close to My Heart.

Thanks so much for taking a look!!

Goin' Fishin'

My brother-in-law's birthday is coming up.  He has one grandson, my little buddy Axel.  It's only a matter of time until Axel falls in love with fishing just like his Grandpa.  I love this little image.  I got it over at Melonheadz Illustrations.  The image is colored in with Copics.  I used the Sketch over at Deconstructed Sketches.  The CS and yellow DP is Close to My Heart.  The rest of the paper is from Recollections Black and White Pad.   The brads are Antique Copper from CtMH and the ribbon from my stash (where would I be without that drawer full of ribbon??)!

Hope you have all had a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!!

You're in my prayers...

I recently purchased a few Digi's from A Day for Daisies and then realized they also had a Challenge Blog.  The current Challenge is to use "Shades of Blue".  So, I chose one of the images, decided to use the sketch No. 43 over at  The Deconstructed Sketch.
I'm not exactly thrilled with how it came out...  I think I should have used water color pencils instead of the markers...  I'll have to give that a try with my next one.  I do love the image though, so very sweet!!

Most of the papers are CtMH and I used sheer blue ribbon and a blue button from my stash drawer.  I believe I ended up with 8 shades of blue =)

thanks for stopping by!!
