The Sweet Stop SSS149

Two more cards before calling it a day...  The Sweet Stop Sketch blog had a "sweet" sketch this week.  This card is for a 15th birthday.  All the paper is Recollection.  The stamp is Close to My Heart Celebrate Life inked with CtMH Black.  The ribbon is from my stash...

Retro Sketch #2 {with felt}

Happy Sunday!!  Today is the first day of Daylight Savings AND it's a beautiful day!!  I love Sunday!!  Awesome morning of Worship, a quick stop at Michael's for some paper =), a bit of outdoor play with the dogs and it's still light out at 5:45!!  What a treat to craft in natural light!

This afternoon I made a Birthday card for my friend Janice.  She is a musician.  I found the cutest images over at The Stamp Fairy.  I used Lenny with his violin and music stand.  So cute!!  The sketch comes from the second Retro Sketch - I love this one.  I actually flipped it on it's side to make it work with Lenny.  The papers are both from Recollection.  behind Lenny is a piece of white felt attached with 4 tiny black brads.  The Ribbon Carousel Challenge challenge this week is... 'Cause we FELT like it.

Now it's time to get supper ready...

For Sentimental Reasons

Just one card before I go to bed...  Over at the CAS-ual Friday Blog, the challenge this week is to keep it Clean And Simple with the Sentiment as the focal point.  I needed a masculine Birthday card and this seemed to be just the right Challenge to do this Saturday night!

I used all Close to My Heart products, paper, card stock, stamp and ribbon.  The Sentiment:  CELEBRATE It's Your Day.

Hope you are having a great weekend.  I spent a good part of today with my friend Juanita down on Cape Cod - one of my most favorite places here on Earth...  AND went to one of my most favorite Coffee Shops - The Daily Brew in Cataumet.  The day started out with snow and ended with sun shine - lots of coffee, laughs, and sunshine - a perfect day.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

Simple Pleasures...

It's early Saturday morning, and of course I can't sleep so... I am making a card =)  Love to check the new week's challenges on Saturday morning. This morning's card sketch is from Sketch Saturday.  I was going to combine it with CAS-Friday, but once I got playing with the papers AND the flowers, the card became anything but "clean and simple"!!  So, another card will be in order...

I used papers from the retired Close to My Heart paper pack Mayberry - the name alone says simple pleasures =)  The bicycle stamp is also CtMH from the set Pair-a-Phrase and colored in with pencils.  The sentiment is stamped with Olive on grosgrain ribbon.

Enjoy your Saturday!!

It's a Double...

Tonight (after some house cleaning) I made a card for the Mojo Monday Challenge.  I also wanted to do the color challenge over at The Play Date Cafe, so I decided to Double Up!   I find it funny that since I've been doing these Challenges, which really isn't very long, so many of the color challenges have featured gray.  I don't think I had used gray before...  Anyway, all papers are Close to My Heart.  The Digi Image is from The Paper Shelter.  I found charcoal polka-dot grosgrain ribbon in my stash and layered yellow bakers twine tied off with a yellow button.  Three tiny buttons finish off the embellishments.

I am definitely hooked on these Challenges.  I look forward to sharing my cards with others and love to hear from other crafters.  I can (and do) lose track of time going from Blog to Blog checking out other crafters projects.  There are so many who do amazing work!!  Now I must grab some sleep before the sun rises... tomorrow is a day to go to one of my favorite Coffee Shops and stop by the ocean...  a day to seek inspiration...  Good Night All!!

Fun Folds!

Tonight I wanted to make a baby card and decided to make one for the Crazy 4 Challenges C4C126.  The card or project had to have dimension - they called this Challenge "Fun Folds".  It had been a LONG time since I had made a 3 dimenstional card.  I looked up the directions for a tri-fold card I had made in the past.  It looks more difficult than it is and turns out to be a fun card.  I used papers from my stash along with a LORi Digi Image.  The embellishments are Close to My Heart buttons tied with waxy flax, denim baker's twine from the Twinery and the stamp is CtMH.
