SWEET Sketch Wednesday!!

Merry Christmas!!!  What a wonderful few days this has been...  Great to see family, we gathered at my brother and sister-in-law's house on the Cape Saturday.  Love to get pictures of the next generation, they are all growing up so fast - this group ranges in age from 7 months to 10 years old!!

We were missing the newest member of the family, Jack just 6 weeks old - he arrived with his parents in New England on Christmas Eve!!  I was so excited to finally meet him!!  We had our Christmas Eve gathering at my sister and brother-in-law's house... complete with a visit from Santa!!

Before the gathering, we had a wonderful Christmas Eve service where we celebrated the reason for the season - the birth of  Jesus who came so that we may have life... eternally.

My heart is full and my body is tired, and I am thankful for so many things one of which is that tomorrow my office is closed =)

Hi friends and Happy Wednesday.  Christmas is just one week away...   are your done with all your shopping??  Sad to say I'm not, not sure where the time goes...  But, I am looking forward to spending some time with family and meeting my newest Great Nephew Jack who will be at my sister's for a week - Can not wait!!

This image reminds me of my Mom.  She loved to keep her bird feeders filled and watch for the cardinals, her favorite!!  I colored the image in with Copics and added some Stickles.  The papers are a new pad I just got from Kaiser Kraft.  The ribbon, netting and flower are all from my stash.

Tuesday Throwdown!!

Hey there friends!!  Sorry for the late post for my DT creation for Tuesday Throwdown - some computer issues have been challenging me...  BUT, I'm up and running at the moment, so here I am to Post a quick entry for Tuesday Throwdown.  This week the Challenge is Anything Goes and our Sponsor is MelJen's Designs!!   We were given a few awesome Digi's to use.  I chose this adorable Mail Box all ready to receive all those Christmas Cards!!

Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday...

It's Wednesday once again!!  That means it's time for a new Sketch Challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday!!  This week's Sketch is the perfect Sketch to feature your favorite stamps and show off your new Design Papers (I just know you all have purchased some...)!!

I've used one of my new paper pads from Bo Bunny, colored the image with my Copics and added some Stickles snow drops and opaque pearls.

Quilting, Papercrafting and Sweet Sketch Wednesday...

I have always loved to craft...  Crewel, Embroidery, Counted Cross Stitch (have a project going on now =), Quilting, Knitting and Papercrafting.  Over the weekend I made a quilt that has a bit of a story...  I lost a very dear friend earlier this year.  Back a few years she and I were at the Cape and we happened upon a Quilt shop.  We had recently been to Nantucket for the Daffodil Festival and the idea came about to purchase some "beachy" fabrics for a quilt I was going to put together for her.  She had so much fun picking out the fabrics, and when we got to a certain point she insisted the quilt have some pink (her favorite color) and some green (my favorite color)...  Well, I had gotten away from sewing, and never got that quilt put together...  Well, on Thanksgiving day, her daughter will be getting married and I thought what better gift than to put that quilt together and it would not only be a gift from me, but in a way, a gift from her Mom...  So at every opportunity between church and work, I have been sewing since Saturday and finished and delivered the quilt last night.  Thought I would share a few pics...

     

 

I wonder if any of you are quilters too?  I think the thing I love about making cards and working with paper is it is a LOT like quilting, on a much smaller scale with almost instant satisfaction...  Enough of my babbling and on to share with you this week's Sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

I've been unemployed for a few months and am happy to say I will be back to work in the next week or two - Praise God for His faithfulness!!  Last week, I went to the Cape to visit one of my Mom's friends (while my days are still free...), she lives in Orleans, does not drive, and at 81 years young, rides her bike EVERYWHERE she needs to go.  I wanted to share a few pics of her "neighborhood"...

I LOVE the Self Service Flower and Cranberry Stands - and I will say, we made a purchase at both!!  The cranberries are from a family bog on the road leading in to her house.  Tasted great in my stuffing last night!!

Her home is a little piece of Heaven here on Earth...
