Sweet Sketch Wednesday!!
I am so very excited to be able to say that I am on a Design Team!!! AND to be able to say that I am on the Design Team of my favorite Sketch Challenge - Sweet Sketch Wednesday. I never used to think about making square cards, but now I find that square cards are what I want to make!! I love Arlana's Sketches with all the layering and the perfect layout to feature those favorite stamps. SWEET!!
Even though I am not entering my card this week, and my first week to feature a card as a DT Member is next week, I couldn't resist the Sketch. Perfect for an Anniversary card I wanted to make. So check out my card and please, check out the Challenge over at the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Blog. The Sponsor this week is Milk N Coffee Stamps. They have some really sweet images. I know I will be picking up a few...
Tonight I used a stamp from Lili of the Valley. I love this little boy and girl on the swing. I love back shots... Some of my favorite pictures of my kids when they were young are from the back...
The couple I am going to give this card to have been married more than 50 years. So I love the sentiment LoTV put with this stamp: "Together Forever". How true!! I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it in with Copics. I then fussy cut it out and mounted it with Pop Dots. The paper is Lily Bee Design - Buttercup and the ribbon is from my stash.
I am entering this card in the Challenge at The Paper Shelter - LAYERS...

Birthdays...
At my church, we have a Birthday list that comes out the last Sunday of the month with the following month's Birthdays listed. I try to make cards for everyone (some months I am successful, some, well, not so much...). Anyway, there were two birthdays today at the church. I didn't have a lot of time yesterday, so, I just started layering with some DP I liked added some ribbon and this is what I came up with. I love how they came out and they were super quick!
The paper for the card on the left is from Debbie Mumm - Song Birds. I added some crocheted "ribbon" from Close to My Heart at the bottom and used my Go To Birthday sentiments from Verve stamped with Chocolate from CtMH. For the card on the right I used papers from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found - Sunshine. The shimmery ribbon is from my stash and the crocheted ribbon at the bottom is Recollections. The sentiment is stamped with Tuxedo Black from Memento.

Brant Point Light
I love to check out CSI Color Stories Inspiration each week to see what their assignment is... This past week I was so excited to see that the photo they were drawing their inspiration from was of a favorite Lighthouse of mine that's on Nantucket!! I try to do this Challenge Blog each week, but have missed quite a few weeks this Summer (I have so many printouts from the Blog that I still really want to do...)... Any way, tonight I created this 6 x 6 layout. Juanita and I have gone to Nantucket several times for the Daffodil Festival. These photos were taken in 2009. Love, love, love that weekend get-a-way. My favorite vacation spot. We arrive on the Island, put away technology (for the most part =) and relax. So nice to get a way with a friend and have no one looking for anything from me - sweet!!
The papers I used are mostly from the Authentique 6 x 6 pad Fresh. Most everything else is from my stash.

Make a Wish...
Yesterday turned out to be quite a productive day and certainly a busy day!! Last night I made birthday cards for two sisters who share the same birthday... 4 years apart!! The first is for Dana who is turning 12. I used the Sketch from The Sweet Stop and a new Digi from Fresh Brewed Designs.
I used a retired paper pack from Close to My Heart - Caboodle. I love the soft colors =) The ribbon is also CtMH. I colored the image with my Copics and fussy cut it out and mounted it with Pop Darts - looks like it's flying high!! The sentiment is from Smooches!!
The second card is for Lilly turning 8. What 8 year old wouldn't think a trip to the Candy Store was TOTALLY COOL?? I used this cute image from The Stamping Boutique and colored it with Copics. I created some layers with some cute paper from My Mind's Eye Fine and Dandy Girl. It kind of reminds me of candy... The ric rac is from my stash and the sentiment from Smooches.

Seize the Day!
Well, I better Seize something... I have a busy weekend. Lots going on... an Outreach at Church all day tomorrow, Church services Sunday morning, a Close to My Heart Team Meeting Sunday afternoon, and a Church Supper Sunday night... I suppose I should clean a bit tomorrow before heading out. I also need to make 5 birthday cards (in addition to the two I made tonight)... I think I better check my Stash of cards and pray that I will find a few that suit the occasion...
I am making this card for the Challenge over at Sentimental Sundays. Their Challenge is to use Banners or Pennants PLUS a Sentiment. They also have a Bonus Sketch which was perfect for my image. The paper is from My Mind's Eye, Sweet Caroline - Fiddlesticks. I colored the image from Designed 2 Delight with Copics. The sentiment is from a retired Close to My Heart stamp set.

City Crafters - Wishi Washi 2
Last night (later than I should have) I decided to Craft... So, I checked out the Tuesday Challenges and went with the City Crafters Challenge - to create a project using Washi tape with a twist of only 2 other items... I have to admit, I had only used Washi tape once before and am not yet a fan... this project may have changed that. I have had a few notebooks in my stash to embellish and chose to work with one of them. I used paper from my stash, wove Black Polka Dot Washi tape and tied on lots of ribbon. I used a stamp set from Close to My Heart with Black Tuxedo Memento ink. let's see... Washi Tape + DP + stamps... + ribbon - OOPS - that makes 3, however, I do like the notebook with all the ribbon much more than I did without!!
Thanks for a great Challenge City Crafters!!

Fresh Brewed August FB Challenge
Hey coffee loving friends!! I got my Digi today for the August Challenge at the Fresh Brewed Facebook page and made my card tonight. I love this Digi and know that I will be using it again and again!! There are some great Digi's at the Fresh Brewed Designs Shop - check it out!!
I chose Sketch #1 for my card and some fun papers from the Echo Park paper pad Note to Self. I colored the image with my Copics and then fussy cut it out and mounted it with Pop Dots. The ribbon is from my stash. The sentiment is a sweet little poem I wrote for this card:
Would you like to fly with me?
In a hot air balloon so we could see...
Sunshine, clouds and tree tops too -
with plenty of coffee for me and you!
This has been a fun Challenge and a great Blog Hop - Thanks so much Heather!!

Coffee Anyone???
Heather over at Fresh Brewed Designs is having a blog hop! Today is the last day, but it is not too late to check out the new releases an the creations of the Design Team. I hopped along last night and loved all the stops!! I hope to create a card using one of their Sketches tonight.
I've been on vacation and it has been tough posting... I can only post from my favorite coffee shop when on vacation. That would be the Daily Brew. If you are ever on Cape Cod, it can be found in Cataumet (Bourne) on 28A - love, love, love the Daily Brew.
Well, here I am back at work, vacation is over... so I will have to settle with coffee from my favorite travel mug that at least looks like a vacation spot...
Hope you join in on the fun!!

Olympics!!!
Being the Mom of a gymnast (now coach), I have really enjoyed the Olympic coverage of these Summer Games!! As I write, the event Finals for Balance Beam are on. The US has two athletes in this final. Earlier tonight Beach Volleyball Semi-finals were on between USA and China - what an amazing display of athleticism!! Just awesome. The dedication these athletes have to their sport is simply inspirational. And to think that each and every athlete began at some point in their childhood. My daughter Laura and her boyfriend Chad are opening a gymnastics academy in MA. So many young boys and girls are signing up with great anticipation, with Olympic dreams...
Gymnastics is such a great sport teaching not only cool tumbling, but dedication, time management, respect, and so many other life lessons. I am so excited for Chad and Laura as they begin this new adventure.

You're the Sweetest Thing!
I found time for a quick card last night - amidst the amazing Olympic coverage!! Loved the Beach Volleyball - USA-China... WOW!!! I have had this image from A Day for Daisies for awhile and chose to use it last night. It so reminds me of my Great Nephew Axel. He loves to color!! The Challenge there is to use fabric or fibers...
I used the Sketch from The Sweet Stop Challenge. The papers are Authentique - Genuine. The image is colored with Copics. I chose a soft creamy polka dot ribbon from my stash and paired it with some shear ribbon for the bow. The sentiment is from the Stamp set Piece of Cake - CtMH stamped with Outdoor Denim.
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday...
I am at my family's Beach House in Pocasset, Cape Cod for two weeks and totally enjoying relaxing. I can't believe that I have been napping daily - not like me but I guess I needed it!! The weather has been Hot and Humid, but there is always a breeze in our side yard blowing in off the marsh. A great reading spot on a hot summer's day. Unfortunately, the humidity has kept me from crafting. One year I tried and all my envelopes sealed themselves... Live and learn...
Yesterday the humidity broke and I made a card I needed for a birthday using the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday. I used a cute image from Saturated Canary and colored her in with Copics. The paper is from My Mind's Eye. I added Bakers Twine from The Twinery, A pretty blue button from CtMH and some white shear ribbon to finish the card off. The image is fussy cut and mounted with Pop Dots.
Unfortunately, but I guess fortunately, I am commuting up to work today through Thursday when my real vacation begins. At least I have computer access to get this card posted... right?
Thanks so much for visiting my Blog!!
