Pure Innocence... Celebrate!

Tonight I made two cards with Pure Innocence stamps and paper piecing.  I love to paper piece her dress - easy to stamp and cut!!  The first is a birthday card.  I used the new Sketch over at Sketch Saturday .  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black on Colonial White CS from Close to My Heart.  I colored her in with Copics.  The dress and Birthday crown are paper pieced.  The papers are from Prima Sun Kiss collection.  I added ribbon and pearls from my stash.

Olympics!!!

Being the Mom of a gymnast (now coach), I have really enjoyed the Olympic coverage of these Summer Games!!  As I write, the event Finals for Balance Beam are on.  The US has two athletes in this final.  Earlier tonight Beach Volleyball Semi-finals were on between USA and China - what an amazing display of athleticism!!  Just awesome.  The dedication these athletes have to their sport is simply inspirational.  And to think that each and every athlete began at some point in their childhood.  My daughter Laura and her boyfriend Chad are opening a gymnastics academy in MA.  So many young boys and girls are signing up with great anticipation, with Olympic dreams...
Gymnastics is such a great sport teaching not only cool tumbling, but dedication, time management, respect, and so many other life lessons.  I am so excited for Chad and Laura as they begin this new adventure.

One day while checking out digi sights I found cute gymnast images and thought I would make up some cards for a small rack at their gym.  I know I would have grabbed them when I was the Mom waiting for my daughter's practice to end...  Any way. I used the Sketch from Sketch Saturday.  The image is from Scrappin' Doodles, colored in with Copic Markers. I used paper from Echo Park - Hello Summer, Baker's Twine and some cute buttons.  The sentiment is from Smooches.   I can't wait to make up some of the other images...  =)

33 years later...

Saturday was my Anniversary.  My husband Joe and I were married 33 years ago.  Where does the time go?!?!?  Earlier last week this cute little picture was on my daily Mary Engelbreit calendar.  The bride even has red hair.  I cut it out and decided to use it on my husband's Anniversary card.  I used the Sketch over at Sketch Saturday.  The papers are from My Mind's Eye and Pink CS from my scrap pile.  I used a scalloped border punch from Fiskars and a bit of bling from Close to My Heart.  I kept it Plain and Simple to keep it from being too feminine ;-)

Thanks so much for checking out my card!!

Today I created a Wedding Card using the sketch at Sketch Saturday.  I am also entering this card in the Challenge over at Word Art Wednesday.  The Sketch was perfect for the sentiment I wanted to use.  1 Corinthians 13:4-8.  I used papers from the 6x6 Designer Pad from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found - Blush.  The sentiment is computer generated.  I also used Opaques from Close to My Heart on both the card and the envelope and flowers from Recollections on the envelope.  The sentiment inside the card is from Verve.  Bob and Patty's Wedding was today and the weather was perfect!

Sketch Saturday

OK, I am up way too late...  BUT, it has been a crazy week and my nights have been full.  I didn't want to miss the deadline at Sketch Saturday so...  after Life Group I got busy!!  The sponsor for this week's Challenge is Bunny Zoe's Crafts.  I took a look at her shop and chose a very fun Mermaid digital image!!  This little mermaid brings back memories of a weekend on Cape Cod with friends.  We spent some time at Old Silver beach and Beth and I made a mermaid in the sand out of seaweed...  we had some laughs over her and many other mermaids we encountered throughout the weekend...  I do love Cape Cod with friends!!!  I loved working with this Sketch!  I chose papers from Authentique 6x6 Bundle - Fresh!  I love the beachy theme to this paper pad.  I added a shell cut out from one of the papers in the pad along with 3 clear buttons knotted with waxy flax, both from Close to My Heart.  The sentiment is from LOTV.  Both the sentiment and the image are distressed with Sky ink from CtMH.  The image is mounted with Pop Dots.  Now this mermaid needs to get some sleep before it's time to go to work again...

Joy!!

What can bring more Joy on Mother's Day than Grandchildren??  Tonight's card is for a "Grandmother" friend of mine and based on the sketch over at the Sketch Saturday Challenge.  I used cute, bright papers from the Simon Says April Stamp Card Kit Sunnier Days.  I love the bright prints.  The image is from Mo Manning.  This pair of kiddos is just so adorable =)  I colored them with Copic markers, fussy cut them out and mounted them with Pop Dots.  I found some cute little paper flowers in my stash and used the sentiment Joy from a retired CtMH Christmas stamp set.

Celebrate!

I admit it.  I am one of those... tax procrastinators.  Today was the day I actually turned on my Turbo Tax and got busy.  I vowed I would not approach my Craft Room until I hit the TRANSMIT button.
So this Saturday I made one card.  I used a new stamp set I purchased at a great store I found on my way home from Rockport a few weekends ago Absolutely Everything (check out their website - lots of great stuff).  The set is Pure Innocence - Birthday Princess.  I am using the sketch from Sketch Saturday.  I am also entering it into the Crazy 4 Challenges which is to use BUTTONS!!!

Paper - Crate Paper "Pretty Party" 6 x 6 Pad
Ribbon & Buttons - Close to My Heart

Refrigerator Magnet Card...

I love, love, love the sketch at Sketch Saturday this week and I love, love, love the Pemberley Paper Pack from Close to My Heart.  I used one of the papers, front and back along with Colonial White card stock and the stamp set Word Puzzle (reminds me of refrigerator magnets so I had some fun with this set).  I stamped the flowers with Outdoor Denim and colored them in with CtMH markers in Indian Corn Blue, Desert Sand and Vanilla Cream.  The words are stamped in Desert Sand.  The lace is from K & C Company.  A few of the flowers and the butterfly are secured with Pop Dots.

Now...  time to turn in.  Thanks for visiting my Blog!!

Simple Pleasures...

It's early Saturday morning, and of course I can't sleep so... I am making a card =)  Love to check the new week's challenges on Saturday morning. This morning's card sketch is from Sketch Saturday.  I was going to combine it with CAS-Friday, but once I got playing with the papers AND the flowers, the card became anything but "clean and simple"!!  So, another card will be in order...

I used papers from the retired Close to My Heart paper pack Mayberry - the name alone says simple pleasures =)  The bicycle stamp is also CtMH from the set Pair-a-Phrase and colored in with pencils.  The sentiment is stamped with Olive on grosgrain ribbon.

Enjoy your Saturday!!

Happy Birthday Inez Maret!!

Starting off my Wednesday with a quick post.  It's my youngest Great Neices birthday Friday - she's turning 2!!  I loved the sketch over at Sketch Saturday SO MUCH, I made one more for Inez.  I chose the papers in the new Close to My Heart Pemberley pack (one of my  favorites from the Spring 2012 Idea Book).  Inez has a constant companion in Thor, the family's Black Lab, so I chose Ella & the Dog,  images from By LORi Designs.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Verve.   I am also entering this card in the Challenge "Let's See Those Layers" over at The Pink Elephant Blog.

Enjoy your Wednesday everyone and thanks for stopping by!!
