Pure Innocence... Celebrate!

Tonight I made two cards with Pure Innocence stamps and paper piecing.  I love to paper piece her dress - easy to stamp and cut!!  The first is a birthday card.  I used the new Sketch over at Sketch Saturday .  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black on Colonial White CS from Close to My Heart.  I colored her in with Copics.  The dress and Birthday crown are paper pieced.  The papers are from Prima Sun Kiss collection.  I added ribbon and pearls from my stash.

Simple Pleasures...

It's that time of year!!  Lots of Farms Stands on all the back roads packed with Pumpkins, Mums and Scarecrows.  I love this Season in New England!!  My favorite time of year.  Tonight I made a card for this favorite time of year featuring a wonderful Digi image from Dearie Dolls.  They have some amazing *FREE* (that's right, I said FREE) images.  Tonight I chose to color up this cute Scarecrow for my Fall card bearing the sentiment:
"simple pleasures" -  I love that!

Papers: MME - Portobello Road (stripes) and Bo Bunny - Natural Necessities Double Dot Designs (polka dots)

Woven Together with Love!!

That is the sentiment on the inside of my card.  I created this yesterday for a friend at my Church who really is amazing!!  She is a Mom!!  And not just any Mom - she has grown children and takes in Foster Children.  I love to watch them arrive at Church each Sunday.  The kids are all dressed so cute and greet me with a big hug!!  This Thursday she is Adopting the two youngest.  It will be a day celebrating Love!!

I used a Retired Stamp from Close to My Heart to create her family tree.  The hearts on the tree represent all of the children.  The three hearts off the tree represent her married daughter and first grandson!!  The papers and ribbon are from my stash, the inks are all Close to My Heart.  The ribbon wrapped around the card just makes me think of a big Hug...

I am entering this card in the Papertake Weekly Challenge - Things that make you go "Awww"....

Sweet Sketch Wednesday Sketch #171-103

Wow - time for a new Challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  That week sure flew by!!

This week our Sponsor is Pattie's Creations - what wonderful images we had to work with.  Mine is the perfect image for a Masculine Birthday card.  I don't know about you, but I often struggle creating masculine cards.  This one just fell into place with Arlana's great Sketch from the Past and Pattie's Image!!  My papers are Echo Park - Note to Self.  I embellished with Bakers Twine from The Twinery, A crocheted flower from Close to My Heart and a cute little fish charm I picked up at a new Scrapbooking store called Kept Creations.  The sentiment is from a retired stamp set Campin' Fever from CtMH.   The image is colored with Copics.

Meet Pattie Gomez and please check out Pattie's Creations...
I am an Internet Technology Professional and an Artist. I always dreamed of being an artist, but I found out quickly that I needed another field to support my family so I pursued a Degree in Information Technology. I love to use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Fireworks to enhance my work.
I created a character called Pattieboop and her cat named Allie. I have had so much fun coming up with different images so I also created a site to sell them. You can go to my store to find out more about Pattieboop & Allie. I know you will just love them when you see them.     My store: http://www.etsy.com/shop/pattiescreations
Pattieboop is an 11 year old girl who is very opinionated. She was created by me, Pattie Gomez on September 7, 2009. Pattieboop is an average 11 year old and she loves dressing up. She is very petite in nature but stands tall because her mother always told her that “If you stand tall you will one day become someone important”. Pattieboop always remembers her mother’s words and makes sure she is noticed.  Pattieboop has a favorite pet named Allie. Allie is a slender black cat and loves playing and spending time with Pattieboop. Allie spends most of her days napping and her nights are spent getting in to mischief

Thanks so much for visiting my Blog!!  I do hope you will stop by Sweet Sketch Wednesday and play along with us!  I can't wait to see your creations!!

Retro Sketch #27

Whenever I make a card I always think when I'm done "Why didn't I make two?"...  So today I did just that.  I wanted to make Birthday cards for two friends at my church whose birthdays are coming up in these next two weeks.

It's been a beautiful day here in New England.  Breezy, in the 70's...  it would have been a very peaceful day BUT I had three Boxers to tend to today.  Boston and Summer are ours, and we have been taking care of our daughter's Boxer Tyson.  They have really been good, just busy..!  Two needed baths before they could come back into the house - that is how hard they play!!  All in all it's been a great day!

Sketch - Sketch Saturday
Paper - My Mind's Eye Moments

Sweet Sketch Wednesday!!

I am so very excited to be able to say that I am on a Design Team!!!  AND to be able to say that I am on the Design Team of my favorite Sketch Challenge - Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  I never used to think about making square cards, but now I find that square cards are what I want to make!!  I love Arlana's Sketches with all the layering and the perfect layout to feature those favorite stamps.  SWEET!!
Even though I am not entering my card this week, and my first week to feature a card as a DT Member is next week, I couldn't resist the Sketch.  Perfect for an Anniversary card I wanted to make.  So check out my card and please, check out the Challenge over at the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Blog.  The Sponsor this week is Milk N Coffee Stamps.  They have some really sweet images.  I know I will be picking up a few...

Tonight I used a stamp from Lili of the Valley.  I love this little boy and girl on the swing.  I love back shots...  Some of my favorite pictures of my kids when they were young are from the back...
The couple I am going to give this card to have been married more than 50 years.  So I love the sentiment LoTV put with this stamp: "Together Forever".  How true!!  I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it in with Copics.  I then fussy cut it out and mounted it with Pop Dots.  The paper is Lily Bee Design - Buttercup and the ribbon is from my stash.
I am entering this card in the Challenge at The Paper Shelter - LAYERS...

Thanks so much for stopping by and I do hope you will play along at Sweet Sketch Wednesday!!

Birthdays...

At my church, we have a Birthday list that comes out the last Sunday of the month with the following month's Birthdays listed.  I try to make cards for everyone (some months I am successful, some, well, not so much...).  Anyway, there were two birthdays today at the church.  I didn't have a lot of time yesterday, so, I just started layering with some DP I liked added some ribbon and this is what I came up with.  I love how they came out and they were super quick!

The paper for the card on the left is from Debbie Mumm - Song Birds.  I added some crocheted "ribbon" from Close to My Heart at the bottom and used my Go To Birthday sentiments from Verve stamped with Chocolate from CtMH.   For the card on the right I used papers from My Mind's Eye Lost & Found - Sunshine.  The shimmery ribbon is from my stash and the crocheted ribbon at the bottom is Recollections.  The sentiment is stamped with Tuxedo Black from Memento.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Make a Wish...

Yesterday turned out to be quite a productive day and certainly a busy day!!  Last night I made birthday cards for two sisters who share the same birthday... 4 years apart!!  The first is for Dana who is turning 12.  I used the Sketch from The Sweet Stop and a new Digi from Fresh Brewed Designs

I used a retired paper pack from Close to My Heart - Caboodle.  I love the soft colors =) The ribbon is also CtMH.  I colored the image with my Copics and fussy cut it out and mounted it with Pop Darts - looks like it's flying high!!  The sentiment is from Smooches!!

The second card is for Lilly turning 8.  What 8 year old wouldn't think a trip to the Candy Store was TOTALLY COOL??  I used this cute image from The Stamping Boutique and colored it with Copics.  I created some layers with some cute paper from My Mind's Eye Fine and Dandy Girl.  It kind of reminds me of candy...  The ric rac is from my stash and the sentiment from Smooches.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!

Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge

Tuesday Morning Sketches had a review Challenge this week.  Choose one of four previous sketches.  I made a birthday card for a sweet one year old.  I used a Cupcake Digi from The Stamping Boutique (who also happens to be this week's Sponsor)!!

The papers are Hello Summer from Echo Park.  I colored the image with my Copics and added some sparkle.  The ribbons and brads are from my stash.

Thanks so much for visiting!!

Here is the birthday girl with her cake - YUM!!!

Seize the Day!

Well, I better Seize something...  I have a busy weekend.  Lots going on... an Outreach at Church all day tomorrow, Church services Sunday morning,  a Close to My Heart Team Meeting Sunday afternoon, and a Church Supper Sunday night...  I suppose I should clean a bit tomorrow before heading out.  I also need to make 5 birthday cards (in addition to the two I made tonight)...  I think I better check my Stash of cards and pray that I will find a few that suit the occasion...

I am making this card for the Challenge over at Sentimental Sundays.  Their Challenge is to use Banners or Pennants PLUS a Sentiment.  They also have a Bonus Sketch which was perfect for my image.  The paper is from My Mind's Eye, Sweet Caroline - Fiddlesticks.  I colored the image from Designed 2 Delight with Copics.  The sentiment is from a retired Close to My Heart stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Fresh Brewed August FB Challenge

Hey coffee loving friends!!  I got my Digi today for the August Challenge at the Fresh Brewed Facebook page and made my card tonight.  I love this Digi and know that I will be using it again and again!!  There are some great Digi's at the Fresh Brewed Designs Shop - check it out!!
I chose Sketch #1 for my card and some fun papers from the Echo Park paper pad Note to Self.  I colored the image with my Copics and then fussy cut it out and mounted it with Pop Dots.  The ribbon is from my stash.  The sentiment is a sweet little poem I wrote for this card:

Would you like to fly with me?
In a hot air balloon so we could see...
Sunshine, clouds and tree tops too -
with plenty of coffee for me and you!

This has been a fun Challenge and a great Blog Hop - Thanks so much Heather!!
